Smita Bansal is an Indian television and Bollywood actor, most remembered for her role as Sumitra Bhairon Singh, in Balika Vadhu, one of India’s longest running soap operas. Her career started off with the role of Priya in the famous television series Kora Kagaz in 1998. Notable roles that she has played are Neha in Sanjivani, Poornima in Yeh Meri Life Hai, Vishakha in Aashirwad, and Sub-Inspector Aditi in C.I.D to name a few. She has also acted in the 2008 Bollywood film Karzzzz and Malayalam film Daya (1998). She won the 2008 Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the serial Balika Vadhu. Apart from acting she has established an acting school in Jaipur called Smita Bansal’s Acting Studio.
