Ashutosh Rana is one of the most famous villains in Indian cinema, having won two awards for Best Villain- the 1999 Zee Cine Award for Dushman and 2000 Filmfare Award for Sangharsh. His most recent Hindi film was Simmba (2018). He started his career with the television serial Swabhimaan, followed by serials like Farz, Sazish, Jax Kabhi, Waris and anchored the TV show, Baazi Kiski. He also hosted Sarkaar Ki Duniya, a reality show. He had also played lead role in famous TV serial of Doordarshan, named Apradhi Koun.

Ashutosh studied acting at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. He has done many plays with theatre guru Satyadev Dubey in Prithvi Theatre.
