Rangmanch is ActFest’s pre-celebration for participating colleges & groups. A One-Act competition will be conducted between all the participants in and around of Mumbai.

Competition Rules and Regulations

  1. All participants, actors and backstage artists must be a resident of Mumbai and its nearby suburbs.
  2. The short plays may be in HINDI, MARATHI, GUJRATI, & ENGLISH (Preferably Hindi)
  3. Time allotted to the colleges will be 45 mins which includes setting up and dismantling the stage. (Empty stage to empty stage.
  4. The competition will hold one Elimination Round & the Grand Finale.
  5. The finals will be held in the prestigious Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra West.
  6. Final round will have proper use of sets, lights and music.
  7. A Basic Entry Fee of Rs.1200 to be paid. (non-refundable)
  8. Winning team will receive prize money of Rs.25,000 along with the prestigious OM PURI MEMORIAL TROPHY, 1st Runner-up will receive cash prize of     Rs.15,000 and 2nd Runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs.10,000. the results of which will be announced at closing ceremony of ActFest 2020.
  9. All the participants of Rangmanch will get a special discount for ActFest 2020 passes & teams qualifying for finals will receive complementary tickets to ActFest 2020.
  10.  Certificate of Appreciation will be given to all participating teams.
  11.  For finals, chairs tables and wooden boxes (modhas) will be provided to participants. Special furniture or setting will have to be arranged by the participants.
  12.  No live fire, open flame or explosive material shall be allowed and no water spilling on the stage.
  13.  Production cost needs to be covered by participants or the college.
  14.  It is compulsory to submit the following along with the form:
    1. Three copies of the script.
    2. A letter of permission from the author or the copyright holder to the participating college or group to stage the play in ActFest 2020’s Rangmanch.
    3. A short synopsis of the play (half page)
    4. Full list of participants.
    5. Stage plan (set and light design)
    6. Entry Fees of Rs.1200
  15.  The decision of the judges will be final and representation for reconsideration of any verdict under any circumstances will not be entertained.
  16.  Each play in every round will be video recorded, participants shall not have any objection if CINTAA uses the recording or any part of it for publicity purposes; in present or in future.
  17.  Any changes, additions or deletions in the event venue, time or rules will be at the sole discretion of the organising committee.
  18.  Violation of any of the above-mentioned rules and regulations by any participant can render the team liable for immediate suspension from the competition.
  19.  The last date for submission of the form along with supporting documents and entry fees is 16th January 2020.
  20.  Detailed list of prizes will be given to the teams on the date of submission.

Elimination Round

  1. The elimination round will be held on 30th 31st January & 2nd February.
  2. Elimination Round will be a rehearsal round, basic set and properties will suffice during the performances.
  3. For music, basic speakers with aux input will be provided.
  4. On the day, judges will be present to introspect the originality of the script, performance, direction and overall outcome of the play.
  5. Around 6-8 plays will go to the Grand Finale. 
  6. People are welcome to watch and cheer their fellow artists. 
  7. Venues for the elimination round will be communicated soon.
  8. The elimination round will be divided in two segments, one will be held in Ghatkopar, Central Suburbs and the other in Andheri, Western Suburbs.
